Immediate crash

I cancelled and they auto billed me. I never used product during billing period and they would not refund the auto bill of more than 1k. Product not worth the price.

I use Hootsuite for years for my small business. They deactivated my account, and no longer do the subscriptions via Apple, my annual cost of $224 into a monthly fee of $149, unless I pay it fully in advance. Absolutely ridiculous. They’ll have you invest all of your data rack up the prices and then hold your data hostage.

I used to use Hootsuite before I left Twitter then stopped because they didn’t support any of the reasonable alternatives (like Mastodon or BlueSky) just tried to log into my account and now they ONLY let you use the app IF YOU PAY?!? BOGUS!!

Really would love to use this platform but onboarding is a nightmare. I don’t have the create stories option in my dashboard and there is no way to get help or customer service. For the $$$$$$ price they really need to do better. There’s also a allegedly a grid planning app, but can’t get that to work either. What a disaster. I read good and bad reviews and now I totally understand the bad reviews because this is brutal and for for the price they should offer customer service and tutorials that actually function.

I would NOT recommend this app/ site. When they first launched they were amazing. You could have a free account with limited functions. But it was great. Now whoever is running the company doesn’t care about their customer base. My free account got switched to $180 a year. Okay fine. I just saw my Amex today. I got charged $1266 for the year!!! 7 times more in just 1 years time. They have no support. No one answering. Just stuck in a loop of FAQ pages online. I’m shocked and disappointed in the direction of this company. I logged into cancel. And it shows “we will miss you. But you can use your service for the next 12 months” since you already paid for it. And we have no intentions of refunding your money!! As a business owner who’s being hit with inflation and a lagging Economy. I just don’t have the funds to cover this. I’m really at a loss.

You have to PAY for the privilege of using the app and it’s not noted anywhere in the app description. Garbage.

They nearly doubled the price of my plan for some “new features” that I never noticed until support told me they existed after emailing to complain about the price increase. If I don’t notice your new tools despite using your platform every day, they probably don’t warrant a price increase. Off to Buffer I go.

At first I thought this was an April Fools joke in late May, but alas, it is not. It seems like someone took over after a bender and needs to pay off gambling debts 😒

After using Hootsuite with a partner for a campaign I reached out to the sales teams to see if Hootsuite would be a good fit. I was assured by their sales teams that my needs would be easily met with their service. I am now for the fourth time reaching out to resolve issues that I was assured that I would not have. Starting to think I was lied to so the sales person could make a sale.

Congrats hootsuite. You guys effectively priced yourselves out of my hands. What an absolute rip off. If you’re willing to pay $150/month for this app you are insane!

Can not access any old account info without paying and upgrading. They have my info but I can’t access any of that stuff I already added when this app was actually free.I can login but there’s a charge to even access my account info. Ridiculous

This app hit my cash app for $1,888 hoping they’d get away with ripping me off so for those of you who use ur cash app and have your banks connected to cash app or have lots of cash deposited into cash app BEWARE OF THESE THIEFS!

If you want to pay $1180 a year for this go ahead, I see this now as an absolute scam and waste of money.

After one of July 2019 updates, cute owl stickers for iMessage I used a lot disappeared( The developer support over at Twitter has pointed out on Apple, while all other 3rd party apps’ stickers I have still are at hand and my disposal. I can extract a few recently used in chats owls to re-send, though, but where the plugin did go??? 🥺 The app updates so far proved to be worthless, while my plea in a review form tends to be deleted by the developer’s requests to Apple. P.S. Please bring back the previous white app icon background.

This use to be a great app that offered both free and paid. Now it’s strictly paid and I had to delete my account because I wouldn’t pay. 4.7 out of 5 can’t be true considering mostly everyone is saying the same. Terrible business decision.

I think HootSuite is a Good Interface but I feel it’s now losing its credibility because of the lack of access to non paid users. I’m a firm believer that “If It Ain’t Broke Don’t Fix It. I don’t see what HootSuite is gaining from that change I see it being detrimental to the growth

Not happy at all. Deleted the app. They recently switched to only paid plans for businesses and professions and nothing for personal casual use. In doing so, they locked my account unless I upgraded to a paid plan (the cheapest being $99 per month!) and therefore locked all of my scheduled posts.

just updated the app, and now the keyboard’s option is absent and sweet, which means I cannot use any of my pre-created keyboard messages to post my deal. This renders your app useless, and I would like a refund.

Spent too long trying to just subscribe. After signing up vanished only sign in is available. Not sure why it’s so hard to sign up. I tried all options it said available. Too irritated on spend more time on this.

We need different forms of media for posts! Video and pictures should be mixed in one post… and we should be able to post reels, and we should be able to tag shopping products. This app has potential but these updates should’ve been made long ago. :/

I had to use this for an activity in a certificate program I’m taking and this program is a nightmare! Trying to cancel your subscription through the mobile version is nonexistent but nowhere does it tell you that you have to use the desktop version to even view your profile! YOU CAN’T EVEN VIEW YOUR PROFILE ON THE MOBILE VERSION! They’re like Spotify where they have you sign in on the browser version to do ANYTHING with your account. 🙄🙄🙄

Hootsuite used to be a great tool to help manage your small ecosystem of social media. You’d be able to post quick updates to up to three accounts at once, helping small niche websites like the one I and a few friends run for comic news get on the cutting edge of breaking news and previews. Over time, features started to either disappear behind a paywall or break entirely. Then the mail in the coffin for this app, you can no longer use the app without a paid account. So for small websites like mine, that don’t earn money, and we do this just for fun, this app is no longer a viable option and has been deleted off our phones. Oh well, at least there are better alternatives out there still.

How many years does one have to use an app before the company removes it from the App Store, doubles the rate, doesn’t respond to help inquiries after 7 days, and doesn’t give users a chance to talk to a human being. Answer: 5 years. Loyal users who have paid monthly for five years get shut off and shut out? The company used to Bridge Ratings Media Research qualified and competent. Don’t download this half-baked, poor managed app. It’s best days are years in the past.

Couldn’t even tell you how the app itself works because I could never sign in, tried to delete and recreate my account to fix the problem and was told I had to contact support to reregister my own email. Tried to log in with Twitter instead and was immediately taken to the payment screen where they wanted either $139/month or like $1,100/year?! For what??! So I downloaded Planoly and will use that instead. Get it together.

I really have liked the features and ease of Hootsuite. The pricing changes and then the inability to pause the subscription instead of deleting an account made me stop and pause but as a non-commercial user - the final decision was to delete my account and now sadly I am off to remove the app.

Now it's a paid subscription can't do it anymore. Next.

I have used this app for FREE for years and now suddenly you must have a paid subscription to access any social apps and make posts. What a crock!

Another app listed as free that once you download it and open it it says “requires a subscription from Hootenanny.com” the cheapest one is $99 a month. If you wanna charge, fine but don’t list it as a free app. Even if I was okay with paying I wouldn’t do business with one that starts off with shady practices like that.

I used HootSuite for years and it was great for managing a small account like mine. I don’t sell anything online. I’m just a person posting things occasionally, and so there’s no need for me to pay for any version. Now all they offer is a paid subscription. I had to delete my account with posts that I hadn’t yet been able to access which really sucked. They should’ve let me go in there and at least take the things off that I had planned on posting, and then deleted my account.

Today I received a notice that I’d have to have a paid subscription to continue using this app. It won’t even allow me to sign in to figure out how to do that. Now, I have 4 things scheduled that are lost. I’m beyon annoyed.

Hootsuite just eliminated their free plan, with no in-app or email notification. I simply updated the app on my phone and all of the sudden my account is locked unless I shell out $100 or more per month for one of their overpriced premium plans. I can’t even access the 100s of draft social posts I had created on their platform. I get that their goal is (obviously) to make money, but taking users’ data hostage with little or no notice will sour more users than just me.

Look at title says it all. Would not recommend.

I can’t advise against this app enough. The internet version is horrible and doesn’t allow you to end your subscription. On top of that, it doesn’t post in good quality. I used it for paid work while on backpacking trip and it did post on time, but the quality was horrible. Save your time and money.

App is good, been using the desktop / online version for a while. I used business manager for cross posts but starting using Hootsuite app instead. Whenever I try to post a reel on FB, IG and TikTok, it always says my IG business profile can’t accept the video at 9:16 which is so infuriating. Borderline useless with this flaw.

Pretty insanely expensive for an app that doesn’t even work and is entirely not user friendly or intuitive.

Fix the app. Can’t even log in (while being able to do so on a desktop). Constant error messages.

I’ve been having an issue trying to get my account set up and I’m lucky to get one reply a day. Sometimes they don’t reply to my email for three days. So now it’s almost been two weeks that I’ve been waiting to get my account set up. Terrible customer service for an easy fix that could have been solved in one day.

Not sure how the app has a 4.7 rating, the app is hard to navigate, lacking the Grammarly feature, and just does not have what makes the desktop app great.

Ignoring the fact that HootSuite offers poor functionality at exorbitant prices - my biggest complaint is that I did one customer satisfaction survey for them and suddenly my inbox is crammed with promotional emails from spammers in countless industries around the world.
